After watching the webcast on the weekend, I can't wait for Wed Night to find out about all of the changes. Every time there is a conference they release some new and amazing thing that will enhance the business. Building just keeps getting less complicated and it wasn't overly complicated before. With the opening up of company policy on social networking and the addition of preferred customer status, we now have the ability to tap into the newest internet craze, twitter and blogging, Facebook and other onlinenetworking software already in use. The new release of Pulse in Canada and the approaching release of EMV energy drink, we are positioned to explode here in Canada. The question is, how big of that explosion will be in our businesses. So having said that I will say this. With Brig and Steve coming into Toronto tommorow night, we should utilize that as a launch to Black Diamond and a trip to Bora Bora in 2010.

How Does It Compare To Our Competition?!

This is an email response from Mona Vie to the question, How does our product compare to the competition for Acai concentration?

Thank you for your email. Many have asked how our açai juice—the premier açai blend—compares to other açai fruit juices and supplements available. Some competitors note the products they sell contain 100 percent açai in the form of a juice or supplement. They assert that because their product is “100 percent açai” and ours is not, that somehow theirs is better or that it contains more açai.

For example, one company online sells açai supplements with 100 percent pure açai. A serving size of this product is two capsules and contains 1,000 mg or 1 gram of freeze-dried açai. Let’s say (for illustration purposes only because the actual amount is proprietary) that MonaVie contains 25 percent açai. Does this somehow make MonaVie less potent? No, because if a one ounce serving of MonaVie contains 25 percent açai by weight and one serving is equal to about 30 grams, then twenty-five percent of thirty grams is 7.5 grams (or 7,500 mg) of açai in each serving.

MonaVie’s estimated 25 percent of açai by weight per serving turns into greater than 600 percent more açai per serving than their 1 gram of 100 percent açai per serving. MonaVie guarantees you will be getting significantly more than 1 gram of açai many times over per serving. The 25 percent açai by weight in our product is 100 percent açai just like the competition, but our product also contains 18 other body-beneficial fruits and ingredients.

Some ask, wouldn’t it be better to buy a 100 percent açai juice product? If someone tells you they sell a “100 percent pure açai juice,” do not believe them. The açai berry is a very unique fruit. Unlike any other berry, açai is about 90 percent seed and about 10 percent pulp and skin. When processing açai, the berries turn into a puree at best. It would be very difficult to squeeze açai berries to create a 100 percent açai juice. There is one product on market we know that is supposedly a 100 percent açai juice, but they also grind up the seeds with the skin and the pulp.

MonaVie Original, Active, and Pulse are 100 percent juice made up of 19 fruit purees and juices—including 100 percent pure açai. MonaVie mixes its beneficial fruits into one drink, which includes a high quality and scientifically studied açai. The açai used in MonaVie has been the subject of two scientific studies and one clinical study.

MonaVie is intimately involved in the manufacturing process from the harvesting of the açai berry to the finished product. Once picked, processing of the açai berries starts within 24 to 48 hours. This ensures the highest nutritional composition of the berries is maintained. Left out for longer periods, the açai berries start to lose their nutritional value.

The quality and content of the açai used in MonaVie is tested and validated by an independent laboratory before it is approved for use in MonaVie products. This guarantees when purchasing MonaVie you will receive a high-quality and safe açai product.

MonaVie’s açai berries are processed by freeze-drying and freezing, which helps maintain its nutritional composition. By freeze-drying açai berries, a significant portion of its phytonutrient content (over 90 percent) can be maintained. Other processing methods, such as air drying and spray drying sometimes used by some companies significantly reduce the phytonutrient content of the açai berry by as much as 55-70 percent.

MonaVie does not own a patent on freeze-drying. The proprietary freeze-dried acai used by MonaVie and the claims related to its antioxidant and immune benefits are patent pending. This means a patent has been filed to protect the intellectual properties of the unique freeze-dried acai and the claims associated with it.

Also, because of our quality specifications and processing methods used, the açai puree and freeze-dried powder have a significantly higher percentage of pulp when compared to other açai sources. The pulp is packed with beneficial nutrients and antioxidants. If you like your juices pulp-free, you may be limiting the amount of beneficial nutrients your body needs.

Other juice companies will remove the healthy fats to make the appearance of the juice more pleasing, a process known as clarification. Clarification involves the removal of fats, fibers and other beneficial nutrients, which are the basis of MonaVie’s superiority over the competition. Through clarification the end product is stripped of many of its good and beneficial nutrients. Along with clarification, artificial colors and flavors are sometimes added to maintain product consistency.

A person may be purchasing a product claiming to be “100 percent açai juice” from a health food store, but you are not getting the same quality of açai or açai juice when compared to MonaVie. The quality and superiority of MonaVie’s açai juice is next to none! It is truly the premier açai blend.
